It looks like 3 pairs of data channels, yes, so one ought to be an index.
Unless it is a commutation encoder, but then it wouldn't be marked as "incremental"


So, this would be suitable to use for the purposes of rigid tapping along with Spindle speed and single point threading, then? ( per the previous discussions )

Bored at work, just curious so I was looking into it.
Not easy to find rod 500 series info, 400 series is more common.

I did find this



It does look like most all of their encoders have a/b/z channels
